A chance to get onto the foreshore at Rotherhite and find archaeological ‘Treasures of the Thames’. Who knows what will be found-old smoking pipes, drain pipes, pottery, bones…there is lots of evidence of London’s past to discover.
Meeting point: We will be meeting at the front of the Brunel Museum, Railway Ave, Rotherhithe, London SE16 4LF, where we will take a short walk to the stone steps leading to the foreshore. Note: the last few steps onto the foreshore can be extremely slippery – please make good use of the handrail.
Paying. You do not need a Paypal account to pay for this event – you can pay be Visa Debit as well. To pay by Visa Debit (or Paypal) click on the Paypal button and look to the bottom of the next page underneath the Paypal log-in, and click pay by card. You can also pay by Paypal on this page by logging-in in the usual way.
Booking is essential and limited to 10 people per event to aid social distancing. Children must be accompanied by an adult (minimum age for children is 5 years). Maximum of 2 children per adult.
Health and Safety (updated for Covid-19)
· It is essential that you bring waterproof gloves and bag to carry them home in
· Wear sensible footwear e.g. wellies, old trainers or walking boots – no sandals, crocs or bare feet
· It is essential to bring a face covering
· Please bring hand-sanitizer as there may be no local hand-washing facilities – wash your hands with soap and water at the first available opportunity.
· Cover freshly broken skin and eczema with waterproof plaster
Do not attend if you have symptoms of Covid-19. In the event a participant has to cancel due to Covid symptoms, please advise Thames Explorer as soon as possible either by phone (leave a message if unmanned): 0208 742 0057 or email us: firstname.lastname@example.org and we will issue a credit note allowing the customer to book at a later date with no extra charge.
If Thames Explorer has to cancel one of the events then participants will be informed by email at the earliest opportunity and a full refund will be made.
Should events be cancelled due to Government advice on managing Covid (for example a second lockdown) then credit notes will be issued to all participants.
Please dress for the possibility of bad weather. Wear clothing that can get muddy and wear Wellingtons or other suitable stout footwear.
