Rivers and Environmental Issues Outreach
One of our teachers will come to your school and can work with 3 classes during a day’s visit
Each workshop is suitable for up to 30 pupils at times which fit in with your school timetable. Ideally we need to visit when the school hall is available for the day. We will also need to use a computer, screen and projector.
The workshop covers key geographical features, the water cycle and environmental issues. Role play with the Rivers and Environmental Issues floor game involves creating a natural river habitat and gaining an understanding of food chains and adaptations. Pupils will look at how the river environment has changed over time and how pollution and other human impacts can pose a danger to living things. Pupils will explore environmental issues and find ‘pollution solutions’ to help devise a sustainable future for the Thames.
We can adapt the workshop to suit the age group, ability and schemes of work of each class.
