River fieldwork aboard the Golden Salamander
Take your students on a unique learning journey
Thames Explorer has teamed up with classic Thames riverboat – the Golden Salamander – to run river fieldwork boat trips for primary and secondary schools.
Departing from Chiswick Pier, the Golden Salamander will take pupils on a return voyage along the Thames providing a rare view of the riversides between Putney Bridge and Richmond Lock. Using this area as a case study, pupils work with maps to discover how settlements have changed over the past two hundred years. Both KS2 and KS3 programmes cover key National Curriculum objectives in geography and history.
